Fossil hunters have found the remains of what could be the world's first pet cat.

The bones of the animal, buried alongside a human skeleton, have been unearthed from a grave in Cyprus, dating back nearly 10,000 years.

The skeleton is 4,000 years older than the pet cats bred by the ancient Egyptians.
