12 marines killed in Iraqi fighting

Up to a dozen US Marines have been killed in new fighting in Iraq, the Pentagon said tonight.

Reports from the area said dozens of Iraqis attacked a Marine position near the governor’s palace in Ramadi in Anbar province where anti-US rebels are active, a senior official said.
