13 die in Algerian gas explosion
At least 13 workers were killed when a tank filled with liquefied natural gas exploded at an Algerian refinery, state radio said.
Dozens were injured.
The blast in Skikda, a port on the oil- and gas-rich nation’s eastern Mediterranean coast, ripped through a refinery belonging to Algeria’s state-run Sonatrach.
Some 74 workers were injured, the national radio said.
Officials opened an inquiry, the North African nation’s official APS news agency reported.
A refinery official said the blast was most likely accidental.
