Taiwan independence 'intolerable': Jintao
China’s President Hu Jintao has told US president George Bush that Taiwan’s independence “cannot be tolerated”, underscoring China’s increasingly aggressive stance towards the island.
Hu made the remark to Bush during a telephone conversation yesterday, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
The two leaders also discussed premier Wen Jiabao’s recent visit to America, the North Korean nuclear crisis and the situation in Iraq, the report said.
