French heatwave deaths a 'massacre'

The deaths of about 50 people from heat-related illnesses in the Paris region in the last four days is a “veritable massacre,” the head of France’s emergency physicians’ association said.

Patrick Pelloux criticised France’s surgeon general for characterising the deaths as natural.
