US forces arrive in Northern Iraq

American forces have been in northern Iraq for about 24 hours, a US officer confirmed today.

He would reveal no details or numbers of the troops.

US Marine Colonel Keith Lawless, speaking in Salahuddin in Iraq’s Kurdish autonomous region, said the American forces had arrived but would not say where they had come from nor where they were exactly.
