Indian temple insures the faithful
A Hindu temple in Calcutta has insured its pilgrims against terrorist attacks.
Pilgrims are also to be insured against drowning if they take a holy dip in the nearby Ganges River.
Temple official Prasun Hazra said the move comes weeks after Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said his government had information that there could be more terror attacks on Hindu temples.
Vajpayee's warning followed a November 24 siege of two Hindu temples in Indian-controlled Kashmir by suspected Islamic guerrillas, which left 12 people dead and 50 others wounded.
Another attack at a temple in western India in September had killed at least 32 people.
