An English fan has been injured and 19 people arrested in a clash between Liverpool and Basle fans prior to their decisive Champions League match.

An English fan has been injured and 19 people arrested in a clash between Liverpool and Basle fans prior to their decisive Champions League match.

Police say a bomb was thrown into a fast-food restaurant during the fight between about 100 people near Zurich's main train station.

Damage is estimated at about £4,000.

A 35-year-old man from Liverpool is in hospital with head injuries and bruises. He has not been named.

Those arrested were primarily men from the Basle area, but the group also included people from Germany and England, police say.
