FBI interrogates 200 al-Qaida suspects in Pakistan
Pakistani intelligence officials have revealed that FBI agents are interrogating more than 200 suspected members of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network.
The men, who are all foreign nationals, were arrested by Pakistani security forces in several border villages in the weeks since the US began bombing Afghanistan on October 7.
This month alone, Pakistan has arrested at least 150 people suspected of fleeing the US attacks on the Tora Bora region of eastern Afghanistan.
Despite the apparent success of the US attacks, some of the detainees have reportedly told their
captors that there are still at least 2,000 foreign fighters loyal to bin Laden in Afghanistan.
