Israel arrests two prominent Palestinian politicians

Israeli soldiers today shot and killed a member of the militant Hamas group in the West Bank town of Hebron.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders - two groups that have claimed more than 30 suicide bombings over the past 15 months - have gone underground in a bid to evade both Israeli and Palestinian security forces.
