British Green Party slams govt propaganda war
The British Green Party has said humanitarian aid drops over Afghanistan are designed to gloss over the misery being perpetrated on the Afghan population by the US-led bombing.
Spokesman John Norris said: “The so-called aid effort is part of a propaganda campaign aimed at fooling Western voters into believing the bombing is a reasonable policy that isn’t harming the people of Afghanistan.”
He said the food drops do not make up for the fact that aid agencies cannot bring food into Afghanistan because of the attacks.
The United States has two million one-day rations to drop over Afghanistan but an estimated eight million Afghans would need one of these packages every day to survive the upcoming winter.
