Typhoon Utor kills 23 in China
The death toll in China from Typhoon Utor has risen to 23 as hundreds of thousands of people battle against floods.
Utor blew over houses, sank fishing boats and triggered landslides when it slammed into Guangdong province.
It had already left at least 121 people dead in the Philippines.
Damage in Guangdong province is estimated at £203m.
In Nanning, the capital of Guangxi province, more than 300,000 residents and soldiers have piled sandbags and reinforced dikes to hold back surging river waters.
Utor was downgraded to a tropical storm before it hit Hong Kong and China.
Forty-four people are still missing in the Philippines, and the storm killed at least one person in Taiwan.
