Bomb explodes in Tel Aviv suburb

A bomb has exploded in a car near Tel Aviv and one person has been injured.

The explosion happened at an intersection in Holon, a city just south of Tel Aviv.

Tel Aviv district police said the background to the bombing was apparently criminal, but police are checking to see whether it might have been a terror attack.

She said a person in the car was injured.

Police have been on high alert for weeks, looking for suspicious vehicles and people, after a series of bomb attacks.

In some of the attacks, bombs were planted by Palestinian militants in cars parked in public places, and others were suicide bombings.
