A drug commonly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis has been linked to patients having a higher risk of diabetes.

New research has found that taking glucocorticoid therapy — a type of steroids — could increase an arthritic patient’s chance of being diagnosed with the condition.

And the risk increased with the amount of the drug prescribed, researchers from the University of Manchester found.
