A former Korean Air executive whose onboard “nut rage” tantrum delayed a flight has been freed from prison after a South Korean court suspended her jail term.

Cho Hyun-ah, the daughter of the airline’s chairman, did not break aviation security law when she ordered the chief flight attendant off a December 5 flight, forcing it to return to the gate at JFK Airport in New York, Seoul High Court ruled.

However, the upper court said she was guilty of using violence against flight attendants and sentenced her to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years. A lower court previously sentenced her to a year in jail.
