Tensions between the costumed characters spilled over on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame as Mr Incredible launched an attack on Batman. But in astonishing footage, captured by production company FilmOn.com, the character from Star Wars grabs Mr Incredible in a bid to pull him off his costumed rival.

Freddy Krueger and Where’s Wally also attempted to calm the situation as stunned tourists watched on. After breaking free, Mr Incredible can be seen attacking the woman again, knocking her to the ground before being restrained.

CRASH DRIVER PROPOSES IN POLICE CAR

ENGLAND: A man who crashed his car while on the way to propose to his girlfriend still popped the question — in the back of a police car.

Caine Hutchings, 30, was driving Emily Dukeson, 27, and their two dogs to a scenic spot on the cliffs at Blue Anchor, Somerset, on Saturday.

He lost control of his Citroen on the A39 near Shapwick and the car smashed into a tree, though the couple, from Radstock, and their dogs were uninjured.

They were picked up in a marked police car by Pc Nicola Rickards, of Avon and Somerset Police, who offered to take them to a nearby pub.

During the short journey,

“I said I’d drop them and the dogs at the Pipers Inn in Ashcott, he sat in the back and she was in the front,” Pc Rickards said.

“All of a sudden he produced the box through the middle; I’m not sure who was more excited.

“I had to remind her to give him an answer after a few ’oh my gods’ and ’seriously?’ from her, and said he ought to get down on one knee and do it properly when we got to the pub and that I wasn’t leaving until he did.”

The couple plan to marry next year.

Man faked coma for 2 years to avoid court

WALES: A fraudster who pretended to be quadriplegic and sometimes comatose for two years to avoid prosecution has been convicted after police caught him on camera driving and strolling around supermarkets.

Prosecutors say Alan Knight stole more than £40,000 (€50,781) from an elderly neighbour with Alzheimer’s disease.

His deceit was uncovered when police tracked the use of his supermarket card, and produced surveillance camera footage of him walking and driving.

Knight pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court to 19 counts of forgery, fraud and theft. He is due to be sentenced on November 7.

PHONE BILL

ENGLAND: A father was hit with a £1,792 (€2,275) bill after his 10-year-old daughter downloaded 28 hours of videos – about loom bands.

Trinity Groves watched hundreds of the tutorials over two weeks on her Nokia phone after the family’s home Wi-Fi stopped working. But her father, Philip, 35, was unaware his daughter had instead been using Vodafone’s premium rates for the internet in order to access YouTube videos.

TALKING UGLY

USA: Pittsburgh has “won” an ugliest accent tournament in the United States, beating the other finalist — Scranton — in a reader’s poll with more than 54% of the vote.

Gossipy news site Gawker.com set up a tournament bracket pitting what it deemed the 16 ugliest city accents in the US against one another.

Pittsburgh advanced to the finals by winning readers’ votes over Atlanta, Philadelphia and Boston.

The Pittsburgh accent, an odd amalgam of southern twang and lazy East Coast diction — which turns downtown into “dahntahn” and you all into “yinz” — “worsted” Scranton by a vote of 10,404 to 8,748.
