Mother held after telling police she ‘did not want her children’
Chiefs in Arizona said an emergency call was received on Friday from an 11-year-old boy who said his mother was packing and moving to California and was not taking him or his six-year-old brother with her.
Police spokesman Sergeant Mark Ortega said the boy’s mother, Christina Muniz, came out of the house and told officers that she was “sick of her children” and wanted the police to take them so she could “have fun and play”.
Muniz was arrested and charged with child neglect, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to KTVK-TV.
During a court appearance yesterday, Muniz told a magistrate the incident “was a big misunderstanding”.
