AN INVESTIGATION into claims that British soldiers raped hundreds of women while training in Kenya has found no evidence that could lead to a successful prosecution, the Ministry of Defence said.

The announcement follows an external review by Devon and Cornwall Police of a two-year inquiry carried out by the Royal Military Police Special Investigation Branch (SIB).

The MoD said in a statement: “The main conclusion of the extensive investigation, which is supported by an external review, is that in terms of a criminal investigation, there is no corroborative evidence that would lead to the successful prosecution of a named individual in a UK court.”
