THE Dead Sea is living up to its name and may soon become just that — ecologists are warning that the unique site may soon disappear due to rapidly falling water levels.

The world’s saltiest body of water, renowned for its extreme buoyancy, is drying up at an average rate of 1.2 metres per year.
