Superdads campaign for fathers’ access rights
As 12 campaigners climbed bridges and gantries across Britain, Fathers 4 Justice announced a campaign of “widespread civil disobedience”.
Their actions caused traffic disruption and Fathers 4 Justice (F4J) spokesman Matt O’Connor warned his members were ready to go to jail as part of their peaceful protest.
F4J is campaigning against Britain’s system of child assess, which they claim is destroying the sacred bond between parent and child. Mr O’Connor said: “If you give a father no options, you leave him no choice. Fatherhood is under attack in a way inconceivable 30 years ago.
This is the beginning of a mobilisation of fathers, mothers and grandparents who are sickened by what is happening. Be under no illusion, there will be widespread civil disobedience and disruption across the country until this wretched law is removed.”
Earlier in the day, Bristol’s Clifton suspension bridge was closed to traffic after members of the pressure group scaled the structure.
The four men dressed as Spiderman, Superman, Batman and Robin climbed the bridge in the early hours of the morning.
The super-hero theme is regularly used by F4J as symbolic of how dads are heroes to their children.
