Troy Parrott enjoys winning debut as Betis stay unbeaten

Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott made a winning start to his Real Betis career with a vital assist for Pablo Garcia’s late winner at Valencia.

The Dubliner was introduced as a 72nd minute replacement and after breaking away and firing just wide with his first involvement, he played a key part in holding up possession in the lead up to the Seville club’s 82nd minute winner.

Parrott looked lively in his 20 minute debut and wheeled away in delight at the Mestalla as colleague Pablo Garcia struck a cool volley to claim all three points for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Betis have now won their first two matches of the La Liga season. Their next fixture is away at Levante on Saturday, with Parrott's home debut potentially coming against Real Madrid on Friday, September 4.
