It is expected that Uefa will apply a nominal increase to the Euro 2024 ticket prices – a stark contrast to the exorbitant prices in place for the upcoming World Cup in North America.
Irish fans will be able to attend Euro 2028 matches in Dublin at a ticket cost of €35.
Uefa have announced that 40% of tickets across the 24-team tournament will be allocated to the two most affordable "Fans First" categories.
It is expected that Uefa will apply a nominal increase to the Euro 2024 ticket prices – a stark contrast to the exorbitant prices in place for the upcoming World Cup in North America.
There will be four categories in total, plus a small number of VIP+ tickets. The latter bracket is deemed to generate the funding to enable the European governing body to virtually freeze prices for the general fanbase.
Euro 2024 ticket prices ranged from €30 to €200 in the most expensive of Category 1.
“Fans First" tickets for competing nations at that showpiece in Germany increased to €50 for last-16, €60 in the quarter-finals and €90 if the semi-final was reached.
Ireland are one of four host countries, along with England, Scotland and Wales, with seven games pencilled in for Lansdowne Road, including a last-16 and quarter-final tie.
The original basket of six matches was increased when Belfast’s Casement Park failed to progress its reconstruction in time to be ready.
Should Ireland qualify directly from their group, they will have home advantage in all of their Group E matches.
Should they win that, their last-16 tie will also be at home, whereas the runner-up berth sends them to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
There is also a strong possibility of featuring at the tournament if Ireland fail to advance on the pitch because Uefa has reserved two tickets for the co-hosts that don’t qualify.
England are expected to breeze through their group, meaning the parachute will activate once World Cup bound Scotland or Wales do likewise.
As outrage grew over World Cup ticket prices, Uefa reacted in December by ruling out the controversial dynamic pricing model.
They also stated that: “Close collaboration with participating national associations will ensure that loyal supporters of each qualified team have access to 10,000 tickets reserved for every group stage match.”
