Former Republic of Ireland under-21 international Thomas O'Connor has been fined for breaching FA betting rules.
Defender O'Connor, currently on loan at Peterborough United from Wrexham, breached regulations by placing a total of 16 bets on matches between April 23, 2017 and May 25, 2021.
At the above time, the 26-year-old was on the books of Southampton and Gillingham, and five of the bets were placed on competitions those teams were playing in.
The Kilkenny native confessed to the charges and an independent regulatory body handed down a £4,200 fine and issued him with a warning.
He has avoided any further sanction, with an FA statement reading: "Due his early admission of guilt and his co-operation with the FA's investigation and disciplinary process, the commission considered that Mr O'Connor's conduct does not warrant a sporting sanction."
