Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has criticised fans at Anfield for booing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Reds right-back confirmed earlier this week he would not be signing a new contract when his current deal with the newly-crowned Premier League champions expires this summer.
Alexander-Arnold, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, was subjected to audible jeers as he was introduced as a 67th-minute substitute during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal and that continued with most of his touches of the ball.

āIām surprised how many. When youāre in a crowd of 60,000, thereās no doubt thereās a lot of unhappy people at Liverpool about the situation, and Iāve said thatās understandable,ā Carragher told Sky Sports.
āBut for me, I donāt believe any player putting on that red shirt, on going out there to get them three points or winning titles, who goes on to win trophies should be being booed.
āI understand, thereās a lot of ill-feeling, and some people outside of Liverpool wonāt be able to understand that. I do.
ā(But) booing one of your own players while they are playing is not for me.ā

Alexander-Arnoldās long-time team-mate Andy Robertson was reluctant to give his true opinion on the reaction.
āThereās a lot of emotion around it. Itās crucial in these moments that I donāt tell you how to feel and you donāt tell me how to feel about it. All I can do is tell you how I feel about it,ā he told Sky Sports.
āFirst of all, Iām disappointed to lose my best mate. In the game, weāve done it all together. Heās an amazing player and person. Heās made me a better player and that comes from the bottom of my heart.
āHeās taken me to levels where I never knew existed. He kept pushing me through the good years. And heās made a choice.
āHis legacy at this club is obvious there to see. The trophies heās won, the moments heās had in history will always be there. Itās an emotional decision.
āFor Trent, itās not been an easy one. Of course itās not. But heās made the decision. Itās not nice to see a friend get booed, it wasnāt nice. But as I said, we canāt tell people how to act.
āI canāt tell you how I feel about it, Iām extremely proud of him. I love him as a player, I love him as a friend.Ā He will be missed as one of my best friends in the game.ā
The England international, who is bringing to an end a 20-year association with the club he joined as a six-year-old, has won two domestic titles and the Champions League but that was forgotten by large sections of the crowd.
Head coach Arne Slot had said prior to the game he would not tell supporters how they should react to the playerās announcement.
Alexander-Arnold had been on the bench as Slot looked to the future by starting with 21-year-old Conor Bradley on the right of his defence.
The highly-rated Northern Irishman has long been viewed as the natural successor in the position and the crowd sang his name both during the game and after he was replaced by Alexander-Arnold.
Carragher added: āSupporters of any club wouldnāt want to hear this, but most players in that dressing room probably want to play for Real Madrid.
āIāve been in that dressing room, with players who have left us for Real Madrid or Barcelona.
āItās sometimes really hard for supporters. You feel like they fall for it every time, that a player loves them and then moves on.ā
Slot threw his support behind Alexander-Arnold.
The Liverpool boss told Sky Sports: āThere were people who were not so happy, there were people who were happy for him. They clapped for him. A few of them booed.
āEveryone is entitled to their opinion. Towards the end, a few of them got more and more positive.
āFor the fans, they can have the reaction they want. I will always back my players, the ones I lead and wear the red shirt.ā
