Dundalk claim top spot after thumping win away to St Patrick's Athletic

Dundalk have moved back to the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

The Lilywhites bounced back from defeat to Cork City last time out to hammer their hosts St Patrick's Athletic tonight 4-0 at Richmond Park.

Stephen O'Donnell, David McMillan, Daryl Horgan and Brian Gartland were the goal scorers for the defending champions.

There are no fixtures in the Premier Division tomorrow because of the International friendly between the Republic of Ireland and Switzerland.

Saturday’s games sees Galway United host Bohemians in an early kick-off at 2pm, while Bray Wanderers take on Sligo Rovers at 7.30pm. There are also two 8pm matches with Longford Town travelling to Finn Park to play Finn Harps and Derry must face a long trip in search of three points at Wexford Youths.

The game between Cork City and Shamrock Rovers was postponed over international call ups.
