Watch the incredible welcome Barcelona got from Japanese football fans
Most football fans would probably get a little flutter in their belly if they saw arguably the best team in the world. Totally predictable response.
But the reaction of Barcelona’s Japanese fans when the team arrived to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup was nothing short of hysterical.
The players exchanged wry smiles as the crowd screamed their names and held up smartphones to record their heroes.
The Club World Cup is a FIFA-organised international club tournament between the champion clubs from each of the six continental confederations, as well as the national league champion from the host country.
It is being held this year in Japan and began on Thursday December 10. It is played over 10 days with the final to be held in Yokohama on Sunday December 20.
