Vanishing spray to make Wembley debut

Vanishing spray will be used during the Community Shield on Sunday.

The FA have confirmed the referee will have use of the spray in the charity match between Premier League champions Man City and FA Cup winners Arsenal.

It will be its first appearance in English football, after coming to prominence during last month’s World Cup.

The sprays have been in use in Major League soccer in the US for several years, and were also used during a number of previous international tournaments.

The spray will then be used in the Premier League, which begins Saturday August 16, and will also feature in the Champions League.

It is not known how far into the season we can expect "jokes" on the topic to continue.
