Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted he would be interested in making a move for Wayne Rooney should the striker be sold by Manchester United this summer.

The England forward, who scored in last night’s 2-2 draw against Brazil in the Maracana, has handed in a transfer request and his future remains uncertain following the appointment of David Moyes, his former manager at Everton, as successor to Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
