Redknapp: I'd win title with City money
Harry Redknapp claims he would be in a good position to win the Barclays Premier League with Tottenham if he had the money Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has at his disposal.
City boss Mancini and predecessor Mark Hughes have spent almost ÂŁ500m on transfers since Sheik Mansour took over the club three and a half years ago.
Mancini led his team to FA Cup glory last year, but neither he nor Hughes have managed to win the league in that time.
And Redknapp, who has turned his team in to title challengers on a fraction of Cityâs riches, believes he would have a good chance to win the championship if he had a similar amount of money to spend.
âTo be honest you have got a chance of winning the league (with their money),â Redknapp said ahead of his teamâs trip to the leaders tomorrow.
âIâd fancy anyone to manage them. Itâs a different game when you go and buy players and pay your players ÂŁ250,000 a week.
âIt is not rocket science, this game. Good players give you a chance. If you have not got good players you donât have a chance, I donât care who you are.â
Mancini, whose team lead third place Spurs by five points, joked in response: âHe can borrow money from us if he doesnât have money!â
