Redknapp: I'd win title with City money
Harry Redknapp claims he would be in a good position to win the Barclays Premier League with Tottenham if he had the money Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has at his disposal.
City boss Mancini and predecessor Mark Hughes have spent almost £500m on transfers since Sheik Mansour took over the club three and a half years ago.
Mancini led his team to FA Cup glory last year, but neither he nor Hughes have managed to win the league in that time.
And Redknapp, who has turned his team in to title challengers on a fraction of Cityās riches, believes he would have a good chance to win the championship if he had a similar amount of money to spend.
āTo be honest you have got a chance of winning the league (with their money),ā Redknapp said ahead of his teamās trip to the leaders tomorrow.
āIād fancy anyone to manage them. Itās a different game when you go and buy players and pay your players Ā£250,000 a week.
āIt is not rocket science, this game. Good players give you a chance. If you have not got good players you donāt have a chance, I donāt care who you are.ā
Mancini, whose team lead third place Spurs by five points, joked in response: āHe can borrow money from us if he doesnāt have money!ā
