Wickham doubtful for Black Cats

Sunderland striker Connor Wickham is a doubt for tomorrow night’s Barclays Premier League trip to QPR.

The teenager has fluid on his knee after landing awkwardly during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Tottenham, and manager Martin O’Neill has admitted he could be struggling.

However, O’Neill is hopeful that Phil Bardsley (thigh) and Wes Brown, who did not train yesterday because of illness and a sore knee, will make it, while Craig Gordon and Fraizer Campbell (both knee) continue to work their way back to full fitness.
