Pride the only thing at stake at Hunky Dorys Park
Drogheda United will be looking to finish off their league campaign with victory over St Patrick’s Athletic at Hunky Dorys Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Mick Cooke’s side had a terrible start to the season but safely negotiated their survival in the Premier Division, thanks in part to Galway’s disastrous campaign.
Jack Flynn and Colin O'Brien remain out injured for United ahead of their final league fixture.
Stephen Quigley and Brian Gannon picked up injuries last weekend and are ruled out of tonight’s game.
United boss Cooke said: “The build up to next season is underway and I'll be searching for players to add to the squad that we have. It's been a good season, we achieved what we set out to and survive.
“In terms of position, neither side can move, but my players will be playing for pride and they will want to impress me or anyone else watching as they fight for a contract at this club or maybe another.”
Saints have had a disappointing finish to the campaign as their league campaign faded and they were knocked out of the semi-final of the FAI Cup.
Manager Pete Mahon has a strong squad to choose from but must plan without influential midfielder Stephen Bradley due to suspension.
