Galway suffer injury problems ahead of Drogs clash
Galway United v Drogheda United
Galway United and Drogheda United go head to head in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.
John Brennan's Galway squad will once again be down to the bare bones, as two additional players were added to an already long list of absentees.
United will be without long-term injury victims Johnny Keane (knee) and Victor Collins (achilles tendon).
Yob Son (dead leg) will undergo a fitness test ahead of the game, while centre back Laurence Gaughan misses out after picking up a quad injury against Sligo Rovers.
Ronan Caldwell is also unavailable because of a red card received against Sligo, however, Stephen Walsh returns from suspension.
For Drogheda, Jack Flynn and Colin O'Brien remain out injured for the rest of the season.
Midfielder Mark O'Brien returns from suspension, while goalkeeper Robert Duggan has recovered from injury and should start.
Brian Gannon will miss the trip west as he is serving a suspension.
Drogheda boss Mick Cooke said: “We will not be underestimating this Galway side at all.
“They have had their troubles, but they can still cause us a lot of problems on the pitch.
“My players will be trying to earn themselves a contract for next season and prove that they can hack it in the top flight, so we won't be taking this game lightly.”
