Derry face Dundalk with doubts over two players
Derry City can go top of the table with victory over Dundalk at the Brandywell tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Kevin Deery and Shane McEleney are both doubts for the Candystripes and will face a fitness test ahead of the game.
City boss Stephen Kenny must, however, plan without Ruaidhri Higgins as he is serving a suspension.
Derry come into the game on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run and manager Kenny is confident of taking top spot in the table.
Kenny said: "If we win we can go top of the league, if only for a short period, and that is a tremendous incentive.
“Dundalk have a lot of good attacking players with real pace who can hurt you. I expect an open game with plenty of chances.”
Dundalk remain without the injured trio of Eoghan Osborne (fractured tibia), Stephen McDonnell (knee) and Jason Byrne (hamstring).
Ross Gaynor (illness), Nathan Murphy (toe) and Colin Hawkins (hamstring) are all doubts, while Mark Quigley returns from suspension.
Dundalk come to the Brandywell knowing they were the last side to beat City in the league, when they recorded a 1-0 victory at Oriel Park in May.
Lilywhites boss Ian Foster said: “We know that we’ll go there and try to play in the right manner.
“We put in a very good performance at home and won the game, so we know we can beat them.
“On their own ground, they’re formidable. They’ve only lost one game there and that was the first game of the season.”
