Lennon recalled for Spurs
Aaron Lennon was given a chance to show Tottenham fans what they were missing in their thrashing by Real Madrid last week after being recalled for tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second leg at White Hart Lane.
The winger, who pulled out of the 4-0 first-leg defeat just before kick-off due to illness, was one of three changes from the Bernabeu, with Roman Pavlyuchenko in for the suspended Peter Crouch and Tom Huddlestone starting in Europe for the first time in 2011.
Madrid boss Jose Mourinho gambled on four of his five players who were on yellow cards, with the visitors’ only change from the first leg seeing Alvaro Arbeloa come in for Angel Di Maria.
