Alex Ferguson had further bad news after Wolves ended the long unbeaten run of Manchester United today concerning captain Rio Ferdinand.

The central defender pulled out of tonight’s contest after injuring a calf in the warm-up and Ferguson believes the England defender will be out for two weeks.

Ferguson told ESPN: “He turned his calf in the warm-up and he’ll be out for a couple of weeks, I believe.”

On today’s defeat, the United manager added: “It’s disappointing, it’s been a long run for us.

“But we didn’t get going really in the second half today. They (Wolves) are a handful at set-pieces and they proved that again today.

“It was an opportunity for us to continue the great run we’ve been on, the consistency we have shown in last two months has been terrific.”
