New deal for Blackburn's Blackman

Promising Blackburn striker Nick Blackman has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2013.

Blackman, 21, returned to the club this month after a successful loan spell at Motherwell, where he scored 10 goals in 18 appearances in the first half of the season.

He has also had loan spells at Blackpool and Oldham after signing for Blackburn in 2009, following a trial while he was at Macclesfield.
