The Spaniard missed last week’s draw at Tottenham with a hamstring injury but has passed a fitness test and replaces Diniyar Bilyaletdinov in the only change to the Toffees’ line-up.

Stoke are without goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen due to an elbow injury so retain Asmir Begovic from the side beaten in extra time by West Ham in the Carling Cup.

Kenwyne Jones has overcame flu to start and Tuncay retained his place while Danny Collins, Marc Wilson, Abdoulaye Faye and Matthew Etherington return after missing out in midweek.
