Fergie: Rooney out for three weeks

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has said striker Wayne Rooney will be out for two to three weeks with the ankle injury he picked up playing against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Rooney’s injury was confirmed as a minor ligament strain by the club yesterday and Ferguson said in this morning’s press briefing that the England international would be back within three weeks.
