Gilberto leaves Spurs

Brazilian defender Gilberto has left Tottenham after his contract with the club was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 33-year-old arrived at Hertha Berlin in January 2008 but struggled to make an impact and only made 10 appearances.

Meanwhile, Troy Archibald-Henville has joined Exeter City on loan for six months and Ben Alnwick has moved to Norwich for three months, while Danny Rose has been linked with a short-term move to Sheffield United.
