City agree to Revenue payments
The High Court today adjourned to June 15 an application by the Revenue Commissioners to have Cork City football club wound up, with the club agreeing in the interim to make certain payments to Revenue.
The latest development follows the removal from examinership last October of the club's holding company under a court-approved survival plan which promised creditors, including Revenue, a percentage of money owed.
However the Revenue said it had received only part of the funds owed to it, and was seeking to have the company wound up.
Lawyers representing Cork City today sought an adjournment, saying they would need more time to respond to the application. In the meantime, the company was prepared to pay dividend monies and PAYE and PRSI due to Revenue.
Ms Justice May Laffoy granted an adjournment to June 15.
