Both sides have chance to go top at Turner's Cross
Cork City v Derry City
Whoever wins can go top of the table as Cork City entertain Derry City tonight at Turner’s Cross, kick-off 7.45pm.
The Candystripes travel south without centre-half Clive Delaney as he is struggling with a hip injury.
Gareth McGlynn is also ruled out as he has a hamstring strain, while Ger O'Brien is doubtful as he is also carrying a hamstring injury.
Derry coach Declan Devine said: "We've beaten Cork already this season at home so we are confident that we can go there and get a result.
“That, however, does not mean that we are complacent. Cork are a strong side with a good manager at the helm and we will need to be at our best to get the result from the game that we would like."
Stephen O’Donnell and Robert Mezeckis are unlikely to start for Cork, however, both have both trained this week and are in contention to feature at some stage.
Billy Dennehy, Neal Horgan, Davin O’Neill and Shane Duggan will all miss out through injury, while Danny Murphy is suspended having picked up four yellow cards.
City boss Paul Doolin said: “Derry got the win when we met at the Brandywell earlier in the season, but as I said at the time I do believe we deserved something out of that game.
“We are now ahead of them in the table. It will be a tough game for us, but we are looking forward to it and hopefully we will get a big crowd out to support us.”
Cork manager Paul Doolin spoke to Cork's RedFM ahead of the game.
