Watch: Daniel Kinahan appears in court after extradition from Dubai

On Sunday morning, the Government jet involved in the extradition of Daniel Kinahan from Dubai landed at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel on the outskirts of Dublin just after 6.30pm. Kinahan was detained in April in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on foot of an arrest warrant issued by the courts in relation to alleged serious organised crime offences.

A high-speed convoy carrying Daniel Kinahan then travelled from Baldonnel aerodrome to Dublin’s Special Criminal Court, where he was charged with directing the activities of a criminal organisation between 2015 and 2017.

Mr Kinahan was remanded in custody to appear before court again on October 5, 2026. He was taken to Portlaoise prison in a convoy of SUV's with blacked-out windows, with crowds of onlookers and media outside the prison.
