O’Shea ready to face Arsenal
Republic of Ireland defender John O’Shea comes in at right-back for Manchester United in tonight’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Ryan Giggs is again left waiting for his 800th Manchester United appearance after being named among the substitutes.
Brazilian Anderson is in midfield, while Carlos Tevez is preferred in a front three with Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of £30m striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Arsenal centre-back Mikael Silvestre (back) has recovered to face his former club, while left-back Kieran Gibbs (ankle) is also fit to play.
With Andrey Arshavin ineligible, captain Cesc Fabregas is set to be deployed in a more advanced role, supporting lone striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Abou Diaby has been preferred alongside Alex Song in central midfield.
