Manchester City have a number of fitness concerns ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Sunderland at Eastlands.

Stephen Ireland (ankle) and Wayne Bridge (hamstring) both suffered injuries during last night’s dramatic UEFA Cup win over Aalborg and could be doubtful.

Vincent Kompany, who made his comeback from a toe injury in Denmark after passing a late fitness test, will also be assessed.

Striker Craig Bellamy did not travel for the European game but could be in contention after making a quicker-than-expected recovery from a knee injury.

Provisional squad: Given, Hart, Schmeichel, Richards, Onuoha, Dunne, Bridge, Garrido, Zabaleta, Wright-Phillips, Elano, Caicedo, Ireland, Fernandes, Vassell, Weiss, Robinho, Evans, Bojinov, Berti, Etuhu, Bellamy.
