Bruce ready for relegation battle

Steve Bruce readily admits his Wigan Athletic side are involved in a relegation dogfight just 12 games into the Barclays Premier League campaign.

The Latics are currently fourth from bottom of the table, ahead of third-bottom Newcastle on goal difference – with the two clubs locking horns at St James’ Park tomorrow afternoon.
