Damien Richardson has emerged as the early favourite to take over from Pat Scully at Shamrock Rovers.

Damien Richardson has emerged as the early favourite to take over from Pat Scully at Shamrock Rovers.

Scully has parted company with the Hoops in what the club describe as a "mutually agreed move".

Richardson played for Rovers between 1966 and 1972 and also managed the side for three seasons a number of years ago.

The Dubliner has been out of work since leaving Cork City at the end of last season.
