Hughes starts Robinho for visit to Wigan

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes recalled record signing Robinho for his side’s Premier League clash with Wigan at the JJB Stadium.

The Brazilian forward was rested for the Carling Cup defeat at Brighton but returned to the team as Hughes made five changes from the side which were eliminated on penalties in midweek.

Robinho, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Javier Garrido, Micah Richards and Joe Hart came in for Michael Ball, Tal Ben Haim, Michael Johnson, Daniel Sturridge and Kasper Schmeichel.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce made two changes to the side which ran out 4-1 winners at Ipswich.

Midfielders Kevin Kilbane and Paul Scharner were on the bench with Maynor Figueroa and captain Mario Melchiot restored to the starting line-up.
