Duo debut for Spurs against Villa

Tottenham head coach Juande Ramos gave Roman Pavlyuchenko and Vedran Corluka their debuts in the Premier League clash against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane.

Skipper Ledley King was not in the matchday squad so Jonathan Woodgate took the armband and was in central defence alongside Michael Dawson.

From the team that got a draw against Chelsea before the international break, Chris Gunter, Jermaine Jenas and Giovani dos Santos were left out and Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone were brought in.

Villa were unchanged from the team that got a draw against Liverpool, with new signing Carlos Cuellar on the bench.
