Sligo Rovers 3 Cobh Ramblers 1
First goals for the club from Mauro Almeida and Danny Ventre helped Sligo come from behind to earn their first win of the season.
Cobh stunned the home crowd to take the lead inside three minutes. Alan Kearney worked a short free-kick with Davin O'Neill to cross and skipper Kevin Murray rose above everyone else to power a header past Richard Brush.
The lead lasted just nine minutes as Sligo levelled when central defender Almeida was left free at the near post to glance home a header from Brian Cash's corner.
Poor defending from another delivery into their area cost Cobh a second goal on 22 minutes. Romu Boco crossed from the left and midfielder Ventre arrived to head past James McCarthy.
Cobh were the better side in the second half and Sligo had Seamus Coleman, who cleared off the line, and Brush, who saved from the Cobh striker Graham Cummins, to thank for holding onto their lead.
Boco then sealed the three points four minutes from time when shooting past McCarthy from 10 yards after Matt Judge's effort rebounded to him.
