Owls match off

Sheffield Wednesday’s match against Coventry at Hillsborough has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

The Owls had been using under-soil heating since Sunday but persistent severe frost and freezing fog has left the surface unplayable.

Local referee Craig Porter inspected the pitch at 12.15pm and immediately decided to postpone the Coca-Cola Championship match.

No new date for the fixture has been arranged yet.
